We keep your bass drum exactly where you set it, so you can stop getting up between songs to pull your drums back in place. That's one less thing to worry about at the gig.
Practice Goals
Whether you're learning your first cover, or getting ready for the next big tour, KickBlock lets you focus on playing and not on the gear. And when you go from practice to performance, KickBlock brings that same solid feel, turning any stage into your home kit!
Simple and Effective
Place your KickBlock on the rug, and give it a twist for good measure. That's the whole entire set up process – no more lugging heavy weights that don't work or attaching more spurs to your drum that don't work. This simple tool gets the job done.
There are two main things that give KickBlock it's stopping power, our custom Ultra-Grip Velcro, and the shock-absorbing foam body.
KickBlock and PedalBlock have custom made ultra-strength Velcro hooks that grab on to your drum rug. Each hook will grip the loops in your drum rug's carpet fiber, anchoring it in place. The best way to engage your hooks is to "shimmy" your KickBlock, by rotaing it left to right as you place it into the rug. The hooks will prevent the block (and your drums) from moving across your rug.
The shock-absorbing foam helps to dissapte the force from your kick, and prevents any damage to your kit! It also won't send vibrations from the kick back into your leg (if you have playing with your kit against the wall you might have noticed this).
What rugs work best for KickBlock?
KickBlock and PedalBlock have custom made ultra-strength Velcro hooks that grab on to your drum rug. In order for the hooks to properly grip, the rug must be a closed loop style rug/carpet. Most drum rugs will work well, and there are plenty of area rugs out there that work too. Rugs that won't work are loose, cut-pile carpets like shag rugs, traditional persian rugs, fur rugs etc.
We created the perfect drum rug for ultimate KickBlock compatibility. Check out our rugs here!
I lift my bass drum off the ground, will this still work?
The KickBlock is about 1.8 inches tall. If your bass drum is risen off the ground, make sure that it will still reach the KickBlock.
If the bottom of your drum is higher than the KickBlock you can use 2 PedalBlocks, one on each of the front legs. Use the "V" shaped side of their PedalBlock on the legs of the bass drum to keep those in place. If the bass drum is on a lift device, you can also place the KickBlock directly infront of the lift.
Will this work for my electric kit?
Yes! KickBlock works for both acoustic and electric kits!
Where is KickBlock made?
Each KickBlock is made by us right here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. KickBlock started in Will's basement, where each block was built, tested, packaged and sent off to it's new home. Now we have just moved to a small warehouse, still in Philadelphia, where we make and ship all of your orders. Go Sixers!
